Kaïl Boudache has completed a permanent transfer from OGC Nice to Olympique Lyonnais, signing his first professional contract with the club until 2031. The move was announced by Lyon in a club statement on Monday, coinciding with Boudache’s 20th birthday. The winger expressed his delight on Instagram, stating his pride in joining the “grande institution” and representing the club’s colours.
Lyon highlighted the signing as aligning with their recruitment strategy of identifying young talents with high potential for long-term integration into the club’s sporting project. The club emphasized the importance of securing Boudache ahead of the resumption of pre-season training with the first team.
Boudache broke into the Nice first team in January under manager Claude Puel, despite not yet being a professional. He made a significant impact, scoring three goals in 19 Ligue 1 appearances for the Gym. Contract negotiations with Nice, whom he joined in 2022, stalled earlier in the process, leading to an agreement in principle with Lyon.
The transfer marks Lyon’s first acquisition of the summer transfer window as they look to rebuild their squad. Boudache’s arrival provides a promising attacking option for the club, and he will likely compete for a starting position in Lyon’s forward line. This move allows Boudache to secure his future and develop within a club with a strong track record of nurturing young players.
