Lazio midfielder Kenneth Taylor has spoken about his swift move to the Serie A club and his first five months in Rome. The 21-year-old discussed his transfer in an interview with Radio Tv Serie A, as reported by Cittaceleste.
Taylor revealed he had never visited Rome prior to joining Lazio, but was immediately drawn to the opportunity. He stated that his agents quickly presented the offer, and he accepted without hesitation, expressing his happiness at joining what he described as a “great club.” The Netherlands youth international spent his formative years in the Ajax academy, frequently travelling to Amsterdam from his birthplace of Alkmaar.
He described the ideal central midfielder as a complete player, possessing vision, quality, and defensive capabilities, emphasizing the need to read the game effectively. Taylor credited former Ajax manager Louis van Gaal with significantly impacting his development, admitting he often revisits match footage when struggling to sleep. He also highlighted the passionate support within Italian football, particularly at Lazio, noting how the fans energize players during matches.
Away from football, Taylor enjoys spending his free time with family and his girlfriend, exploring the city, with the Colosseum being a particular favorite. He drew parallels between cinema and football, noting his girlfriend’s work in content creation and observing similarities between the two fields. Reflecting on his personal narrative, Taylor envisions a story of a young player nurtured at Ajax embracing a new experience abroad, emphasizing the rapid growth and maturity demanded by a professional football career.
