Juventus are considering a move for Franck Kessie, with the Ivorian midfielder reportedly favouring a return to Italy, according to reports in Italy. Kessie is currently a free agent, with options in Spain and England also available to him, but a move to Turin appeals to the player.
Kessie previously starred for AC Milan, playing a key role in their Serie A title win in the 2021-2022 season. He joined Barcelona in the summer of 2022, but his time at the Camp Nou has not been without its challenges, and he is now seeking a new club. Juventus, under new management and with a revised transfer strategy, are looking at experienced players who can contribute immediately without a significant financial outlay.
The Bianconeri’s new approach focuses on younger players, but Kessie, as a free transfer, fits the profile of a player who can add quality without becoming an unsellable asset. The total cost of the deal, including wages and bonuses, is expected to be close to a double-digit figure. Atalanta also expressed interest in the player, but Juventus are believed to be a more attractive proposition.
Juventus are also pursuing other targets, with Brahim Diaz identified as a priority signing by manager Massimiliano Allegri. However, the deal is complicated by Real Madrid’s reluctance to sell, and Diaz’s own preference to remain in the Spanish capital. The club, led by sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli, are attempting to build a squad capable of challenging for the Serie A title, drawing inspiration from the successful Milan side of recent years. They are hoping to replicate the shrewd recruitment strategy employed by former Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara.
