Antoine Kombouaré has left Paris FC following the termination of his contract, according to L’Équipe. The 62-year-old manager guided the club to eleventh place in Ligue 1 after arriving in December, but will depart after just over four months in the French capital.
During his tenure, Kombouaré oversaw notable victories including a 4-1 win against AS Monaco and a 2-1 triumph in the Parisian derby. Despite these positive results, the club have opted to move in a new direction.
Liam Rosenior is poised to replace Kombouaré as the new head coach of Paris FC. L’Équipe reports that Rosenior is expected to sign a two-year contract with an additional one-year option. The appointment is anticipated to be officially announced on Thursday.
Rosenior’s previous managerial spell at Chelsea proved unsuccessful, but he had previously enjoyed a positive period with RC Strasbourg, where he spent a season and a half before moving to London. His departure from Strasbourg was met with disappointment by supporters of the club.
The change in management at Paris FC signals a shift in strategy as they look to build on their recent Ligue 1 performance. Rosenior will be tasked with continuing the positive momentum established by Kombouaré and pushing the club further up the table.
