Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany has named his starting eleven for tonight’s Champions League quarter-final second leg against Paris Saint-Germain at the Allianz Arena. The lineup is largely unchanged from the first leg, with Konrad Laimer replacing Alphonso Davies at left-back.
According to reports from So Foot, Kompany has opted for a familiar attacking trio of Michael Olise, Jamal Musiala, and Luis Díaz supporting Harry Kane. Bayern have averaged four goals per game in the Champions League knockout stages this season, and will look to replicate that form against PSG.
Manuel Neuer captains the side from goal, with a defensive line of Stanišić, Upamecano, Tah, and Laimer. The midfield consists of Kimmich and Pavlović, tasked with controlling possession and providing support to the attack. This is being described by Kompany as the most important match of his managerial career.
Bayern Munich are aiming to reach their twelfth Champions League final, a competition in which they have a strong historical record, having reached the final on 18 occasions – second only to Real Madrid. The club confirmed the starting lineup via their official channels shortly before kickoff.
PSG’s lineup has not yet been officially released, but reports suggest Marquinhos was visibly emotional before the match. The first leg ended in a 3-2 victory for PSG at the Parc des Princes, setting up a tense return leg in Munich. A win for either side will see them advance to the semi-finals of the Champions League.
