Claims that FC Barcelona winger Raphinha is seeking a transfer to Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal due to financial problems have been firmly denied by his wife, Natália Belloli. The rumours originated from former Brazil international Vampeta, who suggested the player was considering a move due to a “serious family problem, in addition to financial difficulties.”
Belloli addressed the allegations in an interview with Daily do Garotinho, dismissing the reports as “absurd.” She stated that even earning just 10% of Raphinha’s current salary would represent a significant level of financial security for the family. The forward joined Barcelona from Leeds United in July 2022 for a reported fee of €58 million.
Belloli expressed frustration at the spread of the misinformation, noting that it had travelled from Brazil to Spain and was now being widely believed. She explained her reluctance to publicly discuss the family’s finances, citing a sensitivity to social realities and a desire to avoid accusations of lacking humility.
Raphinha has been a regular starter for Barcelona this season, contributing three goals and six assists in 19 La Liga appearances. He has become a key component of Xavi Hernández’s attack, providing width and creativity. The Brazilian international has 21 caps for his country, and featured at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The denial from his wife effectively ends speculation linking him with a move to the Saudi Pro League, at least in the short term, and suggests he remains committed to his role at the Camp Nou.
