Juventus are prepared to consider offers for striker Dusan Vlahovic as the club seeks to address significant financial challenges, according to reports emerging from Italy. A meeting between Juventus CEO Giovanni Carnevali and manager Luciano Spalletti took place this weekend to discuss the club’s transfer strategy, with a clear directive to prioritize player sales.
Carnevali, who began his role at the club recently, reportedly informed Spalletti that maximizing revenue through player sales is essential to stabilize the club’s finances. While several players are considered safe from being sold – including Yildiz, Kalulu, Locatelli, and McKennie – the vast majority of the squad are potentially available. The club needs to generate funds to afford potential attacking reinforcements such as Alexander Sorloth or Randal Kolo Muani.
Vlahovic’s situation is particularly noteworthy, as previous tensions between his representatives and Juventus officials have created a strained relationship. The club was reportedly unhappy with the manner in which the Serbia international conducted negotiations in the past. Despite this, Carnevali is obligated to explore all options for players within the squad, including Vlahovic, to raise capital.
Juventus are seeking to significantly reduce Vlahovic’s current salary of €8 million per season and will not meet the demands for a €8 million commission for his agent, Milos Vlahovic. A contract renewal could be considered if the player is willing to accept drastically reduced financial terms. Spalletti is open to any outcome regarding Vlahovic, provided it does not disrupt team harmony. Vlahovic remains in Turin while continuing his rehabilitation from a recent injury, and is hoping for a positive signal from the club. Several clubs across Italy and Europe have reportedly shown interest, but have been deterred by the financial demands. A reversal of the club’s stance on a potential sale is not impossible, but hinges on Vlahovic demonstrating a willingness to compromise.
Alongside the Vlahovic situation, Carnevali is also evaluating candidates for the role of sporting director, with Matteo Tognozzi currently leading the race. Other contenders include Massara, Benatia, and Rossi. The new CEO is expected to make a decision on the appointment in the coming days.
