Juventus tie down Albanian youth prospect Arman Durmisi until 2028
Juventus have secured the long-term future of one of their brightest academy talents, confirming a contract extension for Albanian youth international Arman Durmisi. The 16-year-old forward has signed a new deal that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2028, the club announced in an official statement.
The extension, confirmed by the club on their official channels, sees the club commit to the highly-rated 2008-born prospect. Durmisi, who joined Juventus from Slovenian side FC Koper in the summer of 2024, has been a standout performer for the club's Under-20 side this season. According to the club's official communication, the Albanian youth international has made a significant impact, scoring 12 goals in 27 appearances across all competitions for the Primavera side.
His form has been a bright spot in the Primavera 1 season, with the young forward contributing 9 goals and an assist in 20 league appearances. He has also been a key figure in the team's cup runs, scoring twice in two Coppa Italia Primavera matches and adding a goal and an assist in the UEFA Youth League. His most recent goal, a late winner in the Coppa Italia Primavera semi-final, underscored his growing importance to the team.
The contract extension is part of a clear strategy from Juventus to secure their most promising young talents for the long term. The club's statement highlighted Durmisi's development path and his importance to coach Padoin's side. Juventus have a strong recent history of promoting youth, with Kenan Yildiz's breakthrough into the first team serving as a prominent example of the pathway available to the club's academy stars.
Durmisi's new long-term deal, which runs until 2028, is a significant show of faith from the club in his potential. The extension suggests the club's management, in the midst of a season where first-team manager Massimiliano Allegri has integrated several youth products, sees a clear pathway for the young Albanian to continue his development in Turin. The move is indicative of Juventus's broader strategy of building a squad with a strong core of homegrown talent, aiming to develop first-team players of the future from within their own academy system. The club will hope Durmisi can follow in the footsteps of other academy graduates and make the step up to the senior squad in the coming years.
