Juventus are accelerating their search for a new striker following an injury to Ekhator, with Parma’s Pellegrino emerging as a key target, according to reports from Tuttosport. The injury to Ekhator has left manager Massimiliano Spalletti with limited options up front, with only Openda currently available as a central striker ahead of a friendly match against Standard Liege.
Juventus are prioritizing a loan deal for Pellegrino, and Parma have reportedly granted the Turin club a preferential position in negotiations. However, the Bianconeri must act quickly as Serie A rivals Fiorentina are also monitoring the Argentinian forward, particularly if Keane Piccoli departs. Fiorentina’s interest stems from potential funds freed up by a possible sale, creating a competitive situation for Juventus.
While Pellegrino is a current focus, Juventus haven’t abandoned their pursuit of Eintracht Frankfurt’s Kolo Muani. The club are still assessing whether a deal for the French international is feasible before fully committing to alternative targets. Other options under consideration include Alexander Sorloth, whose playing style is similar to Pellegrino, and Jean-Philippe Mateta of Crystal Palace.
Mateta was previously a target for Juventus in January, but a move fell through due to concerns over a knee injury and the club’s inability to secure a permanent transfer or an obligation to buy. An agreement with the player’s agents was previously reached regarding wages, which could potentially streamline future negotiations. The situation surrounding Dusan Vlahovic remains a complex one, with Spalletti’s recent comments bringing the Serbian striker back into focus, though any return would depend on Vlahovic accepting the club’s contract terms.
Juventus’s need for attacking reinforcements is clear, and the club are exploring multiple avenues to address the issue before the start of the new season. The quick resolution of the Pellegrino situation could be crucial, given the growing interest from other clubs and the urgency created by Ekhator’s injury.
