Juventus have officially signed 19-year-old forward Jeff Ekhator from Genoa, the club confirmed on Saturday. The transfer sees Juventus pay €16 million with a further €2 million in potential bonuses. Ekhator was presented at the Juventus Store at Allianz Stadium, showcasing the club’s new away kit.
The move comes as Juventus seek to overhaul their attacking options ahead of the new Serie A season. Ekhator arrives after scoring four goals for Genoa last season, and recently made his debut appearance for the Italian national team in June under interim manager Silvio Baldini. Despite a recent injury sustained during his debut for Juventus in a pre-season match against Basel, Ekhator expressed his delight at joining the Turin club.
Ekhator described the opportunity as a “dream,” and praised manager Luciano Spalletti, stating that the coach is providing him with valuable advice. He also noted his positive experience integrating into the squad, highlighting the support he has received from his new teammates. The forward emphasized his focus on development, stating his aim is to “grow and improve” at Juventus.
The transfer represents the largest sum Juventus have invested in a player under the age of 20 in recent years, signaling the club’s belief in Ekhator’s potential. The swiftness of the deal reportedly surprised the player, who was preparing for the season with Genoa when the opportunity arose. Juventus are still reportedly pursuing further attacking reinforcements, with Randal Kolo Muani remaining a reported target.
