Juventus have confirmed the permanent signing of Jérémie Boga from OGC Nice, the club announced on Thursday. The Serie A side will pay €4.8 million, in two installments, plus €0.8 million in additional costs, to secure the Ivorian winger on a contract until June 30, 2029.
Boga joined Juventus on loan in January and quickly established himself as a key player in Luciano Spalletti’s squad during the second half of the season. He made 15 Serie A appearances, scoring four goals and providing one assist, with three of his goals proving decisive in matches against Udinese, Roma, and Atalanta. Boga previously stated his enjoyment of playing for the club, saying, “At Juve I rediscovered the pleasure of playing football.”
The transfer marks the first official signing under the new Juventus administration led by Giovanni Carnevali, who recently joined the club as CEO and sporting director. Interestingly, Carnevali was also responsible for bringing Boga to Sassuolo initially, signing him from Chelsea for €10 million before later selling him to Atalanta for €22 million. His track record at Sassuolo over twelve years saw him become known for successful player acquisitions.
Boga’s successful loan spell convinced Juventus to exercise their option to buy, solidifying their attacking options for the upcoming season. The move provides Boga with long-term security and the opportunity to continue developing his game in Turin. The signing is expected to add further depth and versatility to Juventus’ forward line as they look to compete at the top of Serie A.
