Juventus must finalize a deal for Randal Kolo Muani today if they intend to include him on their pre-season tour, according to reports from Italy. The urgency has been heightened by Lois Openda’s move to Lyon, prompting Juventus to focus their efforts on securing Kolo Muani as their primary attacking target. Despite recent resistance from Paris Saint-Germain, those at the club remain confident of completing the transfer.
Juventus view acquiring a starting striker for manager Massimiliano Allegri as crucial. Kolo Muani has already agreed personal terms with the Turin club – a five-year contract worth €5 million per season – and has consistently expressed his desire to return to Italy. His relationship with PSG has deteriorated, with the player currently training with the club’s Under 19s after requesting a transfer and explicitly stating his preference for a move to Juventus.
Negotiations with PSG have proven challenging, with the French club initially seeking a fee in excess of previous valuations, influenced by the significant sale of Gonçalo Ramos to Paris Saint-Germain for €74 million. Previous attempts to reach an agreement, reaching as high as €52 million plus €8 million in bonuses during the Comolli era, stalled. However, positive relationships between Juventus’s Carnevali and PSG’s Campos have helped to revive discussions.
The potential deal is now structured around a loan with an option to buy, supplemented by additional bonuses that could bring the final fee to around €50 million, potentially including a percentage of any future resale. Juventus are also simultaneously exploring alternative options, with Joshua Zirkzee, currently at Manchester United, emerging as a potential fallback. Contacts with Zirkzee’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, have been re-established, with the possibility of a loan move being considered.
While Zirkzee is viewed as a complementary player, not the ideal central striker Allegri desires, his availability presents a viable option. The club is working to resolve the transfer situation swiftly, with reports suggesting that shirts bearing Kolo Muani’s name and number are already printed and prepared.
