Udinese are in negotiations with Nicolò Zaniolo regarding a potential contract extension, though several other Serie A clubs are monitoring the situation, according to Udinese General Director Franco Collavino. Collavino stated the club is working towards a “meeting point” with the player, indicating a desire from both sides to reach an agreement.
Zaniolo joined Udinese ahead of the current season and has rediscovered some of his best form, prompting interest from larger Italian clubs. The former Roma and Galatasaray player’s future remains uncertain, despite the ongoing talks with Udinese.
Juventus, now managed by Luciano Spalletti, have emerged as a strong potential destination for Zaniolo. However, they are not alone in their pursuit, with Lazio, under the leadership of Gennaro Gattuso, and Milan, coached by Paulo Amorim, also reportedly expressing interest in the attacking midfielder.
Zaniolo’s career has seen fluctuations in recent years. After establishing himself as a key player for Roma, a serious knee injury hampered his progress. He subsequently moved to Galatasaray, where he experienced a mixed spell before returning to Italy with Udinese. His recent performances for Udinese have showcased his talent and attracted attention from top clubs.
Udinese are reportedly keen to retain Zaniolo, recognizing his importance to the team. However, the financial power and prestige of clubs like Juventus, Lazio, and Milan could prove difficult to compete with. The outcome of the negotiations will likely depend on Zaniolo’s preferences and the offers presented by the interested parties. A move to one of Italy’s elite clubs would offer Zaniolo a platform to further showcase his abilities and potentially compete for major honors.
