Juventus have confirmed the permanent signing of Jeremie Boga from Nice for a fee of €4.8 million. The move was finalized on Giovanni Carnevali’s first official day as the club’s new CEO and General Manager.
Carnevali spent his first day at the club’s training ground, Continassa, meeting staff and beginning a financial analysis of the club’s situation. He also met with sporting director Ottolini and club president Ferrero. A key focus of the analysis is achieving financial sustainability by 2028, a target complicated by the club’s absence from the Champions League next season. Juventus are aiming to generate nearly €100 million through player sales this summer.
The signing of Boga, however, was already a planned operation from the previous management under Comolli. Carnevali previously signed Boga for Sassuolo in 2018 for €4 million, later selling him to Atalanta for €22 million. Boga’s ability to score important goals and play in multiple attacking positions – as a backup to Yildiz and as a false nine – made him a valuable asset.
Carnevali’s arrival marks a significant shift for the club, moving from a smaller organization like Sassuolo to a club with over 500 employees. He is expected to quickly reshape the squad, with player sales being a priority. The new CEO met with coach Luciano Spalletti over the weekend to discuss the team’s future. The club intends to reconstruct its scouting network as part of a broader overhaul. This signing indicates a continuation of building a competitive squad while navigating financial constraints.
This acquisition provides Juventus with a versatile attacking option ahead of the new season, and signals a swift start to Carnevali’s tenure.
