Juventus Next Gen are poised to sign forward Daniel Okolo following the collapse of his former club, Triestina, according to reports in Italy. The 18-year-old will join the Juventus youth setup as a free agent after Triestina’s relegation to Serie D automatically released all players under contract.
Okolo, born in Ravenna, has attracted interest from several clubs in Serie B and Serie C, including Empoli, Juve Stabia, Spezia, Bari, and Catania, but Juventus have moved quickly to secure his signature. He is described as a physically imposing forward capable of leading the line, possessing good mobility and the ability to operate across the entire attacking front. Despite his age, Okolo has already made ten appearances as a professional, scoring one goal and providing two assists for Triestina.
Claudio Chiellini, the sporting director for Juventus Next Gen, is leading the negotiations, continuing a trend of proactive recruitment for the Under 23 side. Juventus are preparing a contract for Okolo that will run until 2030, offering him a long-term opportunity to develop within the club’s system. He is expected to train alongside captain Simone Guerra, who is also nearing a contract extension until 2027, and will be coached by Max Brambilla, a manager known for developing attacking talent.
The move represents a significant opportunity for Okolo to progress his career, with the potential to eventually break into the Juventus first team in the future. Juventus Next Gen aim to solidify their position amongst the top teams in the league, and the addition of a promising young striker like Okolo will be crucial to their ambitions.
