Juventus are holding firm on a €15 million valuation for midfielder Fabio Miretti, according to new Juventus CEO Giovanni Carnevali, complicating potential transfer negotiations with Bologna. Carnevali, in his first public appearance since assuming the role, has signaled a resolute approach to player sales, prioritizing favorable terms for the club as they aim to register €13 million in capital gains by the end of the day.
Bologna are currently pursuing a loan deal with an option to buy, a proposal Juventus are resisting. The Turin club would prefer an outright sale or, at minimum, a loan with an obligatory purchase clause. This significant difference in valuation has stalled progress in discussions between the two Serie A clubs, with no immediate resolution in sight. Villarreal are reportedly monitoring the situation from a distance.
Miretti, 20, has made over 100 appearances for Juventus since breaking into the first team, despite a challenging recent season alongside many of his teammates. Carnevali emphasized the club’s belief in the player’s technical ability and, consequently, his economic value, ruling out a ‘fire sale’ despite the need to balance the books. The club is not desperate to meet the capital gains target, allowing them to maintain a firm stance on player valuations.
Discussions surrounding a potential move for defender Lyanco Lucumì between Juventus and Bologna are also proving difficult. Bologna are seeking a fee close to the player’s €28 million release clause, which expires in mid-July, while Juventus value him at €18 million. Elsewhere, Juventus are considering loaning goalkeeper Giovanni Daffara, though Parma may attempt to secure a permanent deal, potentially including a buyback clause to retain some control over the player’s future.
