Juventus maintain long-term interest in PSG striker Randal Kolo Muani
Juventus are continuing to lay the groundwork for a potential summer move for Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani, according to Italian reports. The French international, currently on loan at Tottenham Hotspur, has been a persistent target for the Serie A club, and the upcoming transfer window could see their pursuit reach a decisive stage.
Kolo Muani's future is intrinsically linked to Juventus's own attacking plans, which hinge on the status of star striker Dusan Vlahovic. Should Vlahovic sign a new contract, the need for a complementary forward becomes a priority. However, if he or another forward like Federico Chiesa or Arkadiusz Milik were to depart, the requirement for reinforcements would become more urgent. In either scenario, Kolo Muani's name remains at the top of the club's shortlist.
The 25-year-old joined PSG from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2023 for a fee reported to be around €95 million. His time in Paris has been challenging, leading to a loan move to Tottenham last summer in search of regular playing time. Despite a reunion at Spurs with his former Marseille coach Igor Tudor, who had reportedly identified Kolo Muani as a key target for a potential Juventus project, the striker's form has not significantly rebounded. He is due to return to PSG at the end of the current season, where his contract runs until 2028.
Sources suggest the financial and tactical conditions for a deal are now more aligned than in previous windows. From an accounting perspective, PSG have significantly amortized Kolo Muani's transfer fee, with a remaining book value said to be just under €30 million. This could make the club more open to a sale at a reduced price. Technically, Juventus see him as a player who could operate effectively alongside Vlahovic while also providing a high-level alternative, offering tactical flexibility.
While Kolo Muani is a primary focus, Juventus are monitoring other attacking options. Joshua Zirkzee of Bologna is another name of interest, though Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for the Dutchman in the €30 million range. The club's preference, as indicated by Italy coach Luciano Spalletti's past comments, would be for a profile like Victor Osimhen, but the Napoli striker's prohibitive release clause and valuation make that deal highly improbable.
The final decision on Kolo Muani will be influenced by the appointment of Juventus's next permanent manager, with Brighton's Roberto De Zerbi strongly linked to the role. His assessment of the squad will be crucial in determining the scale of the summer's attacking overhaul. For now, communication channels between Juventus and the representatives of Randal Kolo Muani remain open, setting the stage for a potential major Serie A transfer.
