Juventus are monitoring Bournemouth winger Justin Kluivert as a potential addition to their attack under manager Luciano Spalletti, according to reports in Italy. The club’s sporting directors will observe the player closely during the upcoming international tournament with the Netherlands.
Kluivert previously played in Serie A for Roma, joining in 2018 for a reported €17 million, but struggled to consistently establish himself during his two seasons in the Italian capital despite contributing 9 goals and 10 assists in 68 appearances. Following his time at Roma, the Dutchman embarked on a series of loan spells with RB Leipzig, Nice, and Valencia without fully replicating his early promise.
His career has undergone a resurgence since joining Bournemouth in the summer of 2023 for a fee of €11 million. Manager Andoni Iraola repositioned Kluivert from a traditional winger to a more central role behind the striker, unlocking his goalscoring potential. The 2023-24 season saw him reach double figures in goals, earning him a place in the Netherlands’ squad for the upcoming international competition, despite a recent knee injury limiting his playing time.
Juventus are reportedly prioritizing the signing of Brahim Diaz, however, Kluivert is viewed as a viable alternative. His prior experience in Serie A is seen as a positive attribute, and he could offer Spalletti a versatile attacking option. The club already boasts players with famous footballing lineage in their squad, including Khephren Thuram and Francisco Conceiçao, and the addition of Kluivert – son of former Milan and Barcelona striker Patrick Kluivert – would continue that trend. A successful transfer could provide Juventus with increased depth and attacking threat in the forthcoming season.
