Juventus are operating under a ‘sell to buy’ policy this transfer window, according to reports from TuttoSport. Club officials Giovanni Carnevali and Ricky Massara are tasked with restructuring both the finances and the playing squad, with player sales taking precedence over incoming transfers.
Despite this approach, the club are prioritizing the acquisition of a new goalkeeper and striker, identified as key targets for manager Luciano Spalletti. Emiliano Martínez of Aston Villa remains a target, however, the Premier League club are reportedly unwilling to lower their asking price for the 34-year-old, which Juventus are hesitant to meet. Alternatives being considered include Japanese goalkeeper Suzuki and Vicario, with Alisson Becker a more distant possibility.
The pursuit of a new striker has proven equally challenging, with negotiations for Randal Kolo Muani of Paris Saint-Germain described as ‘complicated and discourteous.’ The French club are reportedly holding firm on their financial demands. While Pellegrino of Parma is being considered, he is viewed as a squad player rather than a direct replacement for Kolo Muani. A potential return for Dušan Vlahović, who had been offered a contract by Besiktas worth €8 million per season plus bonuses, could potentially end Juventus’ pursuit of Kolo Muani.
Juventus are also looking to offload existing players, with Hans Openda and David identified as potential departures. The sale of these players could pave the way for a move for Alexander Sorloth. In defense, Jhon Lucumí of Bologna is a primary target, but Juventus are waiting for his release clause of €28 million to expire in mid-July, hoping to avoid paying the fee, though competition from Inter and Premier League clubs is increasing. The club are open to selling Muharemovic to a Premier League side, retaining a 50% sell-on fee through their agreement with Sassuolo. Manchester City’s John Stones, a free agent, also remains of interest.
Further midfield reinforcements are also being considered, with talks ongoing with the representatives of Franck Kessié and Leon Goretzka, though their wage demands are proving to be a stumbling block. Brahim Díaz of Real Madrid is a preferred option, but he is reportedly keen to remain in Madrid or join a club competing in the Champions League. Juventus officials acknowledge that this transfer window will be a difficult one.
