Juventus are continuing to monitor Bologna defender Jhon Lucumi, though a move is currently stalled due to Bologna’s asking price and the player’s ongoing participation in international competition. According to reports from Italy, Juventus are hesitant to trigger Lucumi’s current release clause of €28 million, deeming it too high while he is still competing at the international level.
Bologna’s sporting director Riccardo Carnevali is prepared to wait until July 15th before revisiting negotiations with Juventus. At that point, Lucumi’s release clause will expire, leaving the Colombian international with only one year remaining on his contract. This situation would likely force Bologna to consider offers for the player to avoid losing him for free next summer.
Lucumi is reportedly keen on a move to Turin, believing that while interest may exist from the English Premier League, it would likely come from mid-table clubs. Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti is said to view Lucumi as a valuable addition to his squad, appreciating his personality and technical abilities.
Juventus are also assessing the future of Lloyd Kelly, with the club aware of potential interest from Premier League sides. Carnevali is reportedly hoping to secure a fee of between €30-35 million for Kelly, which would provide funds to pursue Lucumi. The ongoing international tournaments are delaying potential player sales.
Meanwhile, Gleison Bremer’s future at Juventus appears secure, with the player expressing his desire to remain in Turin. Bremer has a release clause of €58 million until August 10th, but top European clubs are hesitant to meet that valuation for a 29-year-old player. Federico Gatti may be available for transfer, with Napoli potentially interested, while Daniele Rugani’s future remains uncertain following his loan spell at Fiorentina.
