Konrad Laimer has agreed to a contract extension with Bayern Munich, committing his future to the club until 2029, according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg. The deal was finalized while the Austrian international is currently representing his nation in World Cup qualifying matches.
The 29-year-old midfielder will remain a key component of Thomas Tuchel’s squad, with the extension resolving a period of negotiation that involved significant financial demands from Laimer’s representatives. Despite those demands, both Bayern Munich and the player were consistently committed to reaching an agreement.
Laimer joined Bayern Munich from RB Leipzig in July 2023 on a free transfer, quickly establishing himself as a versatile option in midfield and at right-back. He has made 33 appearances for the Bavarian club across all competitions, contributing with two goals and two assists. His ability to play multiple positions has proven valuable for Tuchel, offering tactical flexibility throughout the season.
The new contract will see Laimer earn a gross salary exceeding €10 million per year, inclusive of performance-based bonuses. This reflects his importance to the team and acknowledges his contributions since arriving at the Allianz Arena. The formal signing of the contract is scheduled to occur shortly, with an official announcement from Bayern Munich expected in the coming days.
This extension provides Bayern Munich with stability in midfield as they plan for the future. Securing Laimer’s services for another five years demonstrates the club’s ambition to maintain a competitive squad capable of challenging for both domestic and European titles.
