Arsenal are actively working to secure the transfer of Leicester City’s Jeremy Monga when the summer transfer window opens, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The Gunners, fresh off winning their first Premier League title in 22 years, are looking to bolster their squad in preparation for another Champions League campaign following a penalty shootout defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the previous season.
Arsenal have already reached an agreement to permanently sign Piero Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusen for a fee of €52 million after a successful loan spell. However, Mikel Arteta is aiming to add further reinforcements, with a right-back, central midfielder, and forward identified as priority positions. Players such as Valentino Livramento of Newcastle United and Sandro Tonali have been linked with moves to the Emirates Stadium.
While Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez has also been a target, he reportedly favours a transfer to Barcelona. Arsenal are also exploring options to strengthen their left wing, with Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers emerging as a key target. Alongside these immediate needs, the club is also focusing on identifying and securing young talent for the future.
Jeremy Monga, a 16-year-old midfielder, has quickly become a standout player for Leicester despite their recent struggles. He made his Premier League debut in April 2025, becoming the second-youngest player to ever feature in the competition, and went on to make 30 appearances across all competitions last season as Leicester suffered relegation from the Championship to League One. His performances have attracted interest from numerous top-flight clubs.
Ben Jacobs has reported that initial talks have taken place between Arsenal and Leicester regarding Monga, and Romano has now confirmed Arsenal’s strong interest. Romano posted on X stating, “Arsenal are pushing to advance on Jeremy Monga deal with Leicester City and player’s camp. Discussions ongoing as Monga has opened doors to the move to Arsenal.” Given his age and limited senior experience with 37 appearances for Leicester, Monga would likely initially feature for Arsenal’s under-21 team or be sent out on loan for the 2026-27 season to continue his development.
