Lazio are in discussions with Bayern Munich regarding a potential summer transfer for Danish midfielder Jonathan Asp Jensen, according to a report from Bold in Denmark. The 20-year-old is anticipated to depart Bayern on a permanent deal following a season-long loan spell with Grasshopper Club Zürich.
Asp Jensen joined Bayern Munich in January 2023 from FC Nordsjælland, initially featuring for the club’s reserve team before his loan move to Switzerland. He made 32 appearances across all competitions for Grasshopper Club Zürich during the 2025/26 season, demonstrating consistent playing time and development in the Swiss Super League. The midfielder’s contract with Bayern currently runs until the summer of 2028, indicating the German club are willing to consider offers for a player not currently in their first-team plans.
Interest in Jensen extends beyond Italy, with clubs in Germany, France, Switzerland, and England also reportedly registering their interest. However, Lazio appear to be leading the chase, potentially offering a clear pathway to regular first-team football. The presence of fellow Danish internationals Gustav Isaksen and Oliver Provstgaard at the Stadio Olimpico could also be a significant factor in attracting Jensen to Rome.
Lazio finished 7th in Serie A last season, missing out on European qualification. Manager Maurizio Sarri will be looking to bolster his midfield options ahead of the new campaign, and Jensen could provide a dynamic and technically gifted addition. While the financial details of a potential transfer remain undisclosed, Bayern are likely to seek a fee reflecting the player’s age and potential. A move to Lazio would allow Jensen to test himself in one of Europe’s top five leagues and further his international ambitions.
