Bayern Munich are set to complete a permanent deal for Senegalese forward Bara Sapoko Ndiaye, according to comments made by sporting director Christoph Freund to BILD on Saturday.
The 18-year-old initially joined the Bavarian club on a six-month loan from Gambinos Stars, but has impressed enough to earn a permanent move. Freund stated that the final details are still being clarified, but anticipates Ndiaye will join Bayern’s training camp in Tegernsee ahead of the new season.
“The final details still need to be clarified, but I expect him to start the season with us. Bara Ndiaye will undergo performance tests on Monday and then join the training camp in Tegernsee,” Freund said, following Bayern’s 2-1 pre-season friendly defeat to Wehen Wiesbaden.
Ndiaye made four appearances in the Bundesliga for Bayern towards the end of the 2025/26 season, benefiting from the side’s comfortable position at the top of the table which allowed manager Vincent Kompany to rotate his squad. He also represented Senegal at the World Cup, featuring in their Round of 32 defeat to Belgium.
While the transfer fee has not been disclosed, the move indicates Bayern’s faith in Ndiaye’s potential. The permanent signing provides Kompany with another attacking option, adding depth to a squad aiming to maintain its dominance in German football. Ndiaye’s arrival could also provide competition for established forwards, potentially pushing them to improve their own performances.
Ndiaye’s development at Gambinos Stars had drawn attention from several European clubs, but Bayern moved quickly to secure his services on an initial loan. The successful loan spell has now been converted into a permanent transfer, suggesting the player has integrated well into the Bayern setup and impressed the coaching staff with his abilities.
