Kolo Muani's Parisian Struggles Continue as PSG Striker Faces Uncertain Future
Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani finds his future at the Parc des Princes increasingly uncertain following a challenging debut season, according to reports from France. The 25-year-old, who joined from Eintracht Frankfurt for a fee of €95 million in the summer of 2023, has struggled to secure a consistent starting role.
Kolo Muani has started just 14 of his 32 Ligue 1 appearances this season, with the majority of his 14 league goals coming from the bench. His situation has been complicated by the form of the established attacking trio of Kylian Mbappé, Ousmane Dembélé, and Bradley Barcola, limiting his opportunities to lead the line.
Despite a promising start, the French international has found goals hard to come by, with a significant goal drought in Ligue 1 stretching over several months. His last league goal from open play was scored in December. Manager Luis Enrique has often opted for other attacking configurations, leaving the 25-year-old in a peripheral role during crucial matches.
According to French media, PSG's sporting director, Luis Campos, is reportedly open to listening to offers for the striker in the upcoming summer transfer window. The club is believed to be seeking to recoup a significant portion of their initial investment, with a fee of around €60-70 million being mooted as a potential asking price. This potential sale is seen as a way to fund other areas of the squad, with a new defensive midfielder and a left-footed central defender being key priorities for the summer.
Kolo Muani's situation is further complicated by the expected high-profile arrival of Kylian Mbappé at Real Madrid, which could trigger a major reshuffle in the transfer market. While PSG would be open to a sale, the striker's high wages and the club's desire for a substantial fee may complicate a deal. The coming months will be crucial in determining whether the French international can revive his club career in Paris or seek a fresh start elsewhere to secure a regular starting role.
