RB Leipzig are aiming to generate €113 million through player sales this summer to fund their own transfer activity, according to reports in Germany. The Saxony-based club currently boasts a squad of 35 professionals and are under pressure to streamline the roster ahead of the new season.
New coach Martín Demichelis is reportedly overseeing a period of evaluation for the current squad, giving players “four or five weeks to show what he can do,” as he stated to BILD. The club is monitoring 15 players closely, with potential departures expected to free up funds and space in the team.
Conrad Harder appears to be among those most likely to leave, with BILD reporting that the midfielder has already been offered to other clubs. Harder arrived at Leipzig last summer but has yet to establish himself as a regular starter. Johan Bakayoko, another signing from the previous transfer window, is also under scrutiny, though the coach is reportedly actively promoting his development.
Several other players are considered potentially sellable, including defenders El Chadaille Bitshiabu and Castello Lukeba, whose places are threatened by the arrival of Maxime Estéve. Lukas Klostermann, Eljif Elmas, Lutsharel Geertruida, and Arthur Veermeeren have also been informed they are free to seek opportunities elsewhere.
Young talents Ezechiel Banzuzi, Andrija Maksimovic, and Viggo Gebel will also be given a chance to impress during the evaluation period. Leipzig’s need to raise significant revenue suggests a busy summer transfer window is ahead, with the club looking to balance financial stability with on-field ambitions. The sales will allow Demichelis to reshape the squad to his liking and potentially address key areas for improvement as they aim to challenge at the top of the Bundesliga.
