Rafael Leão, the Portuguese forward for Milan, has revealed he has held discussions with the club regarding a potential departure this transfer window. This comes as Turkish side Fenerbahçe have reportedly made a significant offer for his services, according to reports from Italy.
Leão is currently completing his holiday and is scheduled to join the Milan squad on their tour in Perth, Western Australia, on July 29th, where he will begin training under new manager Rúben Amorim. However, a move before then remains a possibility.
Fenerbahçe are prepared to offer Leão a four-year contract worth €12 million per season, including bonuses. Simultaneously, they have submitted a bid of €50 million, including add-ons, to Milan for the outright purchase of his contract. The 25-year-old recently appeared on the ‘PodPah’ podcast, where he confirmed he had openly discussed the possibility of leaving Milan with the club’s management. He has been maintaining his fitness during the off-season, even training with Brazilian side Corinthians at their ‘Dottor Joaquim Grava’ training facility in São Paulo. Corinthians welcomed Leão as an honorary guest, providing him with full training gear.
Leão recently participated with the Portuguese national team in the recent international tournament held across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. His current form has been a key factor in Milan’s attacking play, and his potential departure would leave a significant void.
