Leeds United are currently engaged in transfer negotiations with Lyon for Czech Republic international Pavel Sulc, according to reports from French media outlet FootMercato. The discussions represent a further step in Leeds’ summer rebuilding efforts under manager Daniel Farke, following the arrivals of Harry Wilson and Tarik Muharemovic.
FootMercato journalist Sebastien Denis reported on X that talks had been initiated between the two clubs, with Lyon valuing Sulc at approximately €25 million (around £21.2m or $28.6m). While no agreement has yet been reached, the report indicates that Leeds are making progress, though the price remains a key obstacle.
Sulc joined Lyon last summer and is currently under contract with the French club until 2029. The 25-year-old primarily plays as an attacking midfielder but also featured as a centre-forward for Lyon during the recent season. Last season, he demonstrated impressive form, scoring 15 goals and providing 10 assists in 42 appearances across all competitions.
Interest in Sulc extends beyond Leeds, with FootMercato noting reported interest from other Premier League clubs including Nottingham Forest, Tottenham Hotspur, and Aston Villa in recent months. However, it is Leeds who have reportedly made the most headway in securing a deal. The Czech international has also earned 24 caps for his national team, scoring 5 goals.
Lyon’s valuation of €25 million reflects Sulc’s impact since arriving at the club. Should Leeds successfully negotiate a deal, Sulc would add a creative and goalscoring threat to Farke’s squad as they prepare for their campaign. Securing his signature would represent a significant addition to the team’s attacking options.
