Leeds United are reportedly interested in signing Juventus goalkeeper Alessandro Di Gregorio, according to reports in Italy. The potential move comes after Juventus received a boost to their transfer funds with the sale of defender Matias Muharemovic to Leeds for €19 million.
This influx of cash allows Juventus’ new CEO, Giovanni Carnevali, to actively pursue several targets identified by manager Massimiliano Allegri. Allegri is seeking an experienced goalkeeper and a high-level centre forward, and the funds from the Muharemovic deal provide the financial flexibility to strengthen multiple positions, including defence and midfield.
The sale of Muharemovic is a significant financial benefit for Juventus, with the entire €19 million appearing as a single entry on their balance sheet. This allows the club to structure payments for incoming players in installments, potentially easing financial strain. While Juventus may not be able to complete all their desired signings, they are now better positioned to address their priorities.
Di Gregorio, who previously played for Monza, is reportedly open to a move to Elland Road, though he would prefer to remain at Juventus and compete for the second-choice goalkeeper spot. Juventus are also considering other goalkeeping options, including Aston Villa’s Martinez, though his availability is contingent on his performance at the World Cup, and Guglielmo Vicario, who could arrive on loan from Tottenham Hotspur. The club is also exploring defensive reinforcements, with Bologna’s Jhon Lucumí emerging as a potential target following Muharemovic’s departure. Negotiations with Bologna could include Juventus midfielder Fabio Miretti as part of the deal.
Juventus are also continuing discussions with Paris Saint-Germain regarding a potential move for Kolo Muani, but the French club’s €50 million valuation remains a stumbling block. Alternative forward options include Alexander Sorloth of Atletico Madrid. The club is also looking to offload several players to further balance the books, but currently has not received any concrete offers for players such as Koopmeiners, Openda, David, Cabal, Arthur, and Milik.
