Bayer Leverkusen have announced a contract extension for midfielder Montrell Culbreath, securing his future with the club until June 30, 2031. The new deal adds an additional year to his previous contract, which was already in place until 2030. This extension reflects the club’s satisfaction with the young player’s development and integration into the first team.
Culbreath initially joined the Bayer Leverkusen academy in 2023 and quickly progressed through the ranks. Last season saw the attacking midfielder establish himself within the senior squad, making 16 appearances across all competitions and scoring one goal. His performances earned him the opportunity to extend his commitment to the Bundesliga side.
Bayer Leverkusen managing director Simon Rolfes expressed the club’s delight, stating the renewal is “a clear sign of our satisfaction with Montrell.” Rolfes also highlighted Culbreath’s positive attitude and impact, adding that he “seized his chance with energy.”
Football director Kim Falkenberg further praised Culbreath as “an ideal example of our talented young players, who are determined to fulfil their professional dream.” The club has placed a clear emphasis on nurturing young talent, and Culbreath’s extension exemplifies this strategy.
This contract extension provides stability for Leverkusen in the midfield and allows Culbreath to continue his development within a competitive environment. The move signals the club’s intent to build around promising young players and strengthens their squad depth for future campaigns.
