Lille are currently in negotiations with Feyenoord Rotterdam over a potential move for Dutch youth international Gjivai Zechiël, according to L’Équipe. The transfer pursuit comes as Lille finalize the signing of Basar Önal from NEC Nijmegen, with the winger expected to complete his medical in the coming hours.
No agreement has yet been reached between the two clubs, with Feyenoord reportedly holding firm on their valuation of the 22-year-old midfielder. Zechiël is under contract with Feyenoord until 2028, giving the Rotterdam club a strong negotiating position. The financial details of any potential transfer remain undisclosed at this stage.
Zechiël spent last season on loan at FC Utrecht, where he enjoyed a productive campaign. He scored 10 goals and provided 10 assists in 50 appearances across all competitions, significantly raising his profile. He has also represented the Netherlands at youth level, earning 10 caps and scoring 4 goals for the Under-21 side.
Lille have been consistently active in the transfer market this summer, seeking to strengthen their squad ahead of the new Ligue 1 season. The club finished fourth in Ligue 1 last season, securing a spot in the Europa League. Adding a dynamic midfielder like Zechiël would bolster their options in the center of the park and provide further attacking impetus. Securing his signature would likely represent a significant coup for Lille, given the competition for his services and Feyenoord’s reluctance to sell.
