Inter Milan are reportedly considering a move for Argentinian midfielder Nico Paz, currently at Real Madrid, according to reports in Italy. The 20-year-old recently had a loan spell with Como 1907, where he impressed, prompting interest from the Nerazzurri.
Real Madrid activated their buyback clause to bring Paz back to the Spanish capital from Como, but the Italian club retain an option to re-sign him for approximately €60 million. Inter are monitoring the situation, hoping Como will be unable to finalize a deal, opening the door for a potential transfer. The club’s vice-president, Javier Zanetti, is believed to be a strong advocate for bringing Paz to San Siro.
Paz made 31 appearances for Como across all competitions last season, contributing with three goals and one assist. He demonstrated creativity and technical ability in Serie A, qualities that would appeal to Inter manager Simone Inzaghi. The player originally came through the ranks at Real Madrid, making a handful of appearances for the first team before joining Como on loan in January.
Inter’s ability to pursue Paz is contingent on generating funds through player sales. The club are also assessing whether a change in formation, away from the current 3-5-2 system, would be necessary to accommodate the Argentinian. Bookmakers have reacted to the growing speculation, with odds on Paz joining Inter falling to 3.00 on several major betting sites, including Sisal, Starcasinò, Snai and William Hill. A successful transfer could provide Inter with a dynamic attacking midfield option as they prepare for another Serie A title challenge and Champions League campaign.
