Liverpool are now able to pursue a deal for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola after learning the French champions would be willing to allow him to leave if he seeks a transfer, according to reports from French outlet Le Sport 10. The news comes as Liverpool search for potential replacements for Mohamed Salah, who will depart Anfield at the end of the current season.
The Reds have been linked with several wide players, including RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande and Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche, but Barcola has emerged as a viable option. Le Sport 10 reports that PSG are open to a sale should the 23-year-old express a desire to move, and that Barcola himself is interested in a move to Merseyside, provided he would be a key part of Arne Slot’s plans.
Barcola progressed through the Lyon academy before joining PSG in August 2023 for a fee of €45 million. He was a key contributor to PSG’s successful 2023-24 campaign, scoring 21 goals in 64 appearances and helping the club secure a domestic treble, including their first ever Champions League title.
However, Barcola’s playing time has been less consistent this season, with 11 of his 47 appearances coming as a substitute. He has completed a full 90 minutes in only one match since March 6th, raising questions about his role within Luis Enrique’s squad. Barcola is currently contracted to PSG until 2028, giving the French club a strong negotiating position, though his limited playing time could influence their willingness to sell. He is valued at €70.6 million according to current Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) calculations.
Liverpool are currently battling for a European place, sitting fifth in the Premier League table ahead of their final match against Brentford. Meanwhile, Salah recently urged the club to return to a more attacking style of play, emphasizing the importance of regaining the “heavy metal” identity that brought them success in recent years. The potential arrival of Barcola could be seen as a step towards revitalizing Liverpool’s attack.
