Liverpool have set a valuation of €40million (£34.5m) for midfielder Curtis Jones, according to reports, as the club prepares for further squad changes this summer following the confirmed departures of Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah.
Speculation surrounding Jones’ future has increased due to his current contract expiring next year, with no significant progress made on renewal talks. Caught Offside reports that Liverpool are now open to offers for the 23-year-old, attracting interest from Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, and Italian Serie A side Inter Milan, who previously expressed interest in January.
The asking price, however, is proving to be a potential stumbling block in negotiations, though Inter Milan are currently the most proactive club in pursuing Jones. Sources indicate the Nerazzurri view Jones as an ideal addition to their midfield, but are hesitant to engage in a bidding war.
Jones himself is reportedly open to the prospect of playing in Serie A and experiencing a new challenge in Italy. The situation remains fluid, with both Liverpool and the player reassessing their positions, and no new contract discussions currently underway.
Jones has been a Liverpool academy graduate, progressing through the ranks to become a regular squad member under Jürgen Klopp. He featured in 35 games across all competitions last season, contributing with 3 goals and 5 assists. While a versatile player capable of operating in multiple midfield roles, his limited game time and expiring contract have prompted Liverpool to consider a sale.
Should Jones depart, it would represent another significant change for Liverpool under new manager Arne Slot, and allow the club to reinvest funds into strengthening other areas of the squad. Inter Milan, meanwhile, would add a promising young midfielder to their ranks as they look to continue their challenge for domestic and European honours.
