Liverpool, Man Utd among Premier League clubs alerted to Alphonso Davies availability
Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies has been offered to multiple Premier League clubs ahead of the summer transfer window, with Manchester United and Liverpool emerging as leading contenders for the Canadian international’s signature. According to TEAMtalk, intermediaries have held preliminary discussions with both clubs about a potential move for the 25-year-old, who signed a contract extension with Bayern until 2030 in February.
Despite his recent commitment to the Bundesliga champions, Davies’ representatives are understood to have contacted several English sides to gauge interest. Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City have also been informed of the defender’s potential availability, though no formal offers have been submitted. The situation remains fluid, with Bayern reportedly open to considering substantial bids despite not actively shopping the player.
Davies’ potential departure marks a swift reversal after he rejected Real Madrid’s advances earlier this year. The dynamic full-back has regained full fitness following an ACL injury that sidelined him for part of last season, making 32 appearances across all competitions in 2023-24. His recovery and explosive attacking qualities have kept him among Europe’s most coveted defenders.
Liverpool’s interest aligns with their anticipated need to replace Andy Robertson, whose contract expires next summer. Manchester United view Davies as both competition for Luke Shaw and a catalyst to redeploy young full-back Patrick Dorgu in more advanced roles. Any deal would likely require a fee exceeding £60 million given Davies’ age, contract status, and status as a key player for Bayern.
While Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona retain longstanding interest, sources suggest the Premier League is currently Davies’ most probable destination if he leaves Munich. The situation remains in its early stages, with Bayern maintaining they’ve made no decision about the defender’s future ahead of the summer window.
