Liverpool have entered the race to sign Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille, challenging Arsenal for the 18-year-old central midfielder. Both clubs have held discussions with the player’s representatives, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. Bouaddi has quickly become a regular starter for Lille in Ligue 1 and recently impressed in Morocco’s 1-1 draw against Brazil, further increasing his appeal to top European clubs.
Lille have reportedly set a price tag of £60 million for Bouaddi, with a potential for a higher fee should a bidding war ensue between interested parties, including Manchester City. The midfielder’s emergence as a key player for both club and country has significantly raised his profile, making him a highly sought-after prospect this summer.
Reports circulating in Uruguay suggesting a return for Darwin Nunez to Liverpool have been dismissed by Romano. Claims of an agreement with Al-Hilal to terminate his contract and a subsequent move back to Anfield were denied by sources close to the player. While Nunez may be available this summer following the arrival of Karim Benzema at Al-Hilal, a move to Liverpool is not currently being pursued.
Liverpool’s focus remains on securing Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig, with his recent performance for Ivory Coast against Ecuador further solidifying the club’s interest. Diomande delivered a standout display, causing significant problems for Ecuador’s defence, including Arsenal’s Piero Hincapie. The Athletic lauded his performance, highlighting his passing accuracy, dribbling ability, and overall impact on the game.
David Ornstein of The Athletic previously reported that Liverpool are leading the race to agree personal terms with the 19-year-old winger, viewed as a potential long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah. Negotiations with Leipzig have begun, with the German club demanding a fee of around €130 million (£112 million). Romano has confirmed that Liverpool have offered a substantial package to secure Diomande’s signature, and the club is eager to finalize the deal before his value potentially increases further.
