Liverpool are actively pursuing Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola this summer, with the club viewing him as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah. While personal terms are not yet agreed, multiple sources indicate Liverpool are confident in reaching an agreement with the player himself.
PSG are reportedly open to selling Barcola, as the 23-year-old has indicated he will not sign a contract extension in Paris. However, the French champions have initially placed a valuation of €170m / £145m on the player, a figure Liverpool are unwilling to meet. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported on his YouTube channel that while a formal agreement on personal terms is not yet in place, it is expected to be finalized without issue, as Barcola is keen on a move to Anfield.
According to The Times’ Paul Joyce, Liverpool are hoping to negotiate a deal closer to £100million, potentially including add-ons, mirroring the structure of last summer’s deal for Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen. Joyce notes that Barcola is seen as a direct replacement for Salah, suggesting a potential shift in Liverpool’s attacking setup. Other reports, including from The Athletic’s James Pearce, corroborate that Liverpool will not pay PSG’s initial asking price.
Discussions between the clubs are ongoing, with Romano stating that Liverpool will submit an official bid soon, though not immediately. Sources suggest PSG may be willing to compromise on their valuation, and Liverpool could offer a package including significant add-ons to bridge the gap. DaveOCKop has claimed Liverpool’s first bid could include up to €40m in add-ons. The outcome of these negotiations will likely determine whether Liverpool can secure Barcola’s services and bolster their attacking options ahead of the new season.
Barcola joined PSG from Lyon in 2023 and made 35 appearances across all competitions, scoring six goals. He has also represented France at the international level, earning three caps. A successful transfer would provide Liverpool with a dynamic and versatile attacking talent, capable of playing on either wing.
