Real Madrid are weighing a summer move for Tottenham Hotspur right-back Pedro Porro, according to reports from Fabrizio Romano. The potential transfer comes as incoming manager Jose Mourinho seeks to bolster his squad, with a new right-back identified as a priority.
Madrid are in the market for a right-back following the departure of Dani Carvajal this summer, leaving Trent Alexander-Arnold as the only senior option in that position. Alexander-Arnold’s debut season with the club was reportedly underwhelming, prompting Mourinho to request reinforcements. The Portuguese manager, who has a deal in place to take charge after the presidential elections, has also been linked with Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot, a player he previously managed at Old Trafford.
Romano reports that Porro, valued at €45 million (£39m, $52.3m) by Tottenham, is one of three players under consideration, alongside Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries and Sporting CP’s Ivan Fresneda. The Spanish media has indicated that signing a new right-back is ‘one of the demands’ made by Mourinho to the club’s hierarchy.
Porro himself has previously expressed admiration for Real Madrid, stating in an interview with Cadena SER in March 2026, “When you’re little, you dream about a lot of things, but day to day I focus on my reality, and when you think about playing for the best teams in the world, you know you still have things to improve.” The 26-year-old is currently under contract with Tottenham until 2028.
Since joining Tottenham, Porro has made 152 appearances, scoring 13 goals and providing 26 assists. His performances have drawn attention from several top clubs, and his availability could depend on Tottenham’s transfer plans under their new manager. A move to Madrid would offer Porro the opportunity to play for one of the world’s biggest clubs and compete for major honours.
