Man City Agree £60m Deal for Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze
Manchester City have reached an agreement with Crystal Palace to sign midfielder Eberechi Eze for a reported £60m fee. The Premier League champions confirmed the 25-year-old will undergo a medical this week before signing a five-year contract through 2029.
Eze’s move follows months of speculation linking the England international with top-flight rivals after a standout season at Selhurst Park. The creative midfielder registered 11 goals and 4 assists in 27 league appearances last campaign, earning his first senior England caps in June 2023.
The transfer provides Palace with a significant return on their £20m investment when signing Eze from QPR in 2020. For Pep Guardiola’s side, the acquisition addresses their need for attacking depth following Bernardo Silva’s expected departure to Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal.
Eze becomes City’s second major summer signing after securing RB Leipzig defender Joško Gvardiol last week. His versatility to operate across midfield and forward positions aligns with Guardiola’s preference for flexible attacking players. Palace are reportedly targeting Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher as a direct replacement.
The deal continues City’s strategy of recruiting Premier League-proven talent, following previous captures of Jack Grealish and Kalvin Phillips from domestic rivals. Eze could make his competitive debut in August’s Community Shield clash against Manchester United.
