Manchester City have made significant progress in their pursuit of Lille winger Ayyoub Bouaddi, with reports suggesting a transfer fee of around €100 million will be required to secure his services. The information was reported by Ben Jacobs.
Discussions between the two clubs have been ongoing for a month, with Lille reportedly firm in their valuation of the 18-year-old. While City prefer an immediate transfer, Lille are seeking a clause that would allow them to re-sign Bouaddi on loan until 2027 should they accept a lower fee. Bouaddi is expected to discuss the situation with Lille president Olivier Letang upon his return from holiday following international duty.
Elsewhere, Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah is nearing a move to Serie A side Como. Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Como initially hoped Inter would make a move for the England international to avoid a bidding war, but Inter withdrew from negotiations due to Chelsea’s asking price. Como have now submitted a bid of €30 million upfront, with a further €5 million in potential bonuses, though Chelsea are seeking a higher fee.
Arsenal are also actively seeking defensive reinforcements following a serious back injury to William Saliba sustained at the World Cup. The Daily Mail reports that the Gunners are preparing a bid for Aston Villa’s Ezri Konsa, though a significant gap in valuation currently exists between the two clubs. Villa are keen to retain Konsa and are considering offering him a new contract.
Tottenham Hotspur may have to adjust their expectations for Cristian Romero’s transfer fee due to the Argentinian’s ongoing injury concerns. TEAMtalk claims Spurs value their captain at €60 million, but potential suitors are hesitant to offer more than €50 million. Both Barcelona and Real Madrid have reportedly held preliminary talks, alongside interest from Inter, but Manchester United are no longer considered contenders.
Roma are anticipating an imminent bid from Manchester United for midfielder Manu Kone, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. United are currently leading Chelsea in the race for the 25-year-old, who is reportedly eager to join the Premier League club. Roma are willing to sell to balance their finances, with a valuation exceeding €50 million.
