Manchester United have no intention of selling winger Amad Diallo this summer, despite interest from several clubs, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The Ivory Coast international, who recently featured in the 2026 World Cup, scored two goals and provided four assists in 33 appearances for United last season.
Reports from CaughtOffside indicate that Newcastle United, Brighton and Hove Albion, and AC Milan are all monitoring Diallo’s situation, with former United manager Ruben Amorim reportedly keen on a reunion at Milan. However, Romano stated on X, formerly Twitter, that the club is committed to retaining the 24-year-old and believes in his potential.
While Diallo’s future appears secure, United, under the ownership of INEOS, are actively pursuing Tottenham Hotspur winger Tynan Thompson. The 18-year-old English player signed a professional contract with Tottenham in May 2025 and has featured on the bench for Champions League matches. Sources including The Secret Scout and Sam Tabuteau of the London Evening Standard confirm that discussions are underway between the two clubs regarding a transfer fee.
Lilywhite Rose, a Tottenham academy-focused X account with a large following, reported that Thompson’s contract runs until June 2027, meaning a formal transfer fee will be required. The move aligns with INEOS’s strategy of strengthening United’s youth ranks. United are also reportedly interested in Leicester City defender Ben Nelson, with the Foxes seeking £10million for the 22-year-old, though previous offers have been rejected, according to The Daily Mail. West Ham have also expressed interest in Nelson.
The potential acquisition of Thompson and the commitment to Diallo demonstrate United’s focus on both immediate first-team quality and long-term development under the new ownership structure.
