Manchester United have expressed interest in Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha, according to Sky Sports Germany, as they seek to bolster their squad following Champions League qualification. The club is also reportedly pursuing West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville and midfielder Sander Berge.
The 25-year-old Nmecha has become a key player for Dortmund since joining from Wolfsburg in 2023, scoring 13 goals and providing eight assists in 112 appearances. He previously spent time in Manchester City’s academy, making three senior appearances before moving to Wolfsburg. Dortmund are reportedly reluctant to sell Nmecha, who is under contract until 2030, and any offer this summer is expected to exceed his reported release clause of £60.5 million, which does not activate until next summer.
United’s interest in Nmecha comes amid potential departures in midfield, with Casemiro’s exit and the expected sale of Mauel Ugarte creating a need for reinforcements alongside the imminent arrival of Atalanta’s Ederson. Nmecha impressed for Germany at the recent World Cup, scoring in their win over Curaçao.
Separately, Manchester United have also enquired about a potential £50 million deal for West Ham’s Crysencio Summerville, according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein. Despite West Ham’s relegation, Summerville has continued to perform well, scoring a notable goal for the Netherlands against Japan at the World Cup. The potential move is contingent on the future of Marcus Rashford, whose loan spell at Barcelona has concluded.
Additionally, United are considering a move for Fulham midfielder Sander Berge, who has established himself as a consistent performer in the Premier League. The Athletic reports that INEOS are evaluating Berge as another midfield option, having previously considered him during his transfer from Burnley to Fulham. Fulham would likely seek a profit on the £25 million they paid for Berge two years ago. These moves signal a proactive approach from United as they aim to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
