Manchester United have expressed a strong interest in Crystal Palace forward Ismaila Sarr following his performances at the 2026 World Cup, according to TEAMtalk. The 28-year-old scored four goals and provided one assist in four matches for Senegal, though his nation was eliminated in the round of 32 by Belgium.
United are seeking a versatile forward capable of playing across the front line, and Sarr is considered a ‘perfect’ fit for that profile. He recently completed his most prolific season to date, netting 21 goals in all competitions for Palace, including nine in the Europa Conference League where he was the tournament’s top scorer as the Eagles won the competition.
The club has reportedly made contact with Sarr’s representatives to explore the possibility of a transfer and gather more information about his current situation. Crystal Palace would be hesitant to sell a key player, and are expected to seek a fee of around three times the €15 million they paid for him in 2024, given he still has three years remaining on his contract.
United had Sarr on their radar prior to the World Cup, but his displays in North America have significantly increased their interest. His success playing as a central striker has particularly impressed INEOS, potentially elevating him above other targets such as Crysencio Summerville on their shortlist. The extent of United’s investment in an attacker will be influenced by the future of Marcus Rashford, following discussions regarding his potential reintegration after a loan spell at Barcelona.
Despite prioritizing midfield reinforcements, the anticipated departure of Joshua Zirkzee has prompted United to seek a forward regardless, potentially even later in the transfer window. Juventus are also monitoring Sarr’s situation, adding another potential suitor to the race for the Senegalese international.
