Manchester United have initiated discussions regarding a potential move for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, sources have told TEAMtalk. The 23-year-old France international has reportedly informed PSG of his desire to seek a new club this summer, with Arsenal and Liverpool also expressing serious interest.
Barcola, who has won three Ligue 1 titles and two Champions League trophies with PSG, is believed to be frustrated by a perceived decline in his role within the squad. According to transfer insider Graeme Bailey, the winger’s omission from the starting lineups in both the Champions League semi-final and final proved pivotal in his decision, leading him to believe he won’t receive sufficient playing time despite his performances. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Desire Doue and Ousmane Dembele are now viewed as Enrique’s preferred options.
Last season, Barcola scored 13 goals and provided seven assists in 49 appearances across all competitions for PSG. He is currently valued at approximately £60 million, according to talkSPORT. While PSG are attempting to persuade Barcola to sign a new contract, his determination to leave suggests a transfer is increasingly likely.
Separately, Manchester United are also in negotiations with West Ham United for Portugal international midfielder Mateus Fernandes. Fabrizio Romano reports that United are attempting to lower West Ham’s asking price of £85 million, exploring potential restructuring of the deal with add-ons to reduce the initial fee. Real Madrid previously expressed interest in Fernandes, but their signing of Bernardo Silva has complicated that possibility.
Former Manchester United striker Michael Owen has suggested that Marcus Rashford could thrive at Arsenal, should he become available. Barcelona, where Rashford spent last season on loan, are open to another loan deal, but United are reportedly seeking a permanent sale. Arsenal have been alerted to Rashford’s availability, and Owen believes the Gunners could benefit from his addition, particularly as an alternative to their existing wide options.
