Manchester United have submitted a contract offer to West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville, with negotiations now underway between the two clubs, according to reports from Nicolo Schira. The move comes as West Ham prepare for life in the Championship following their relegation at the end of the previous season.
The 24-year-old Summerville was a key player for West Ham in the Premier League, contributing to seven goals in 31 appearances. He recently enhanced his profile by scoring his first international goal for the Netherlands during their 2-2 draw with Japan at the 2026 World Cup on Sunday, a left-footed strike that briefly put his nation ahead. His performance earned him a starting position ahead of more established forwards like Memphis Depay and Noa Lang.
Manchester United are reportedly seeking a new left winger this summer, particularly with Marcus Rashford expected to be sold after his loan spell at Barcelona. Summerville has been identified as a potential option, and has been offered a five-year contract with an additional one-year option, as reported by Schira. The club views him as a viable alternative to other targets such as Iliman Ndiaye and Rafael Leao, who have also been linked with moves to Old Trafford.
Summerville’s Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at €31 million. While some analysts suggest he may not be a transformative signing capable of delivering a league title, his dribbling ability and recent form make him a potentially shrewd acquisition, especially considering United’s likely focus on strengthening central midfield. With other options available on the left flank, such as Patrick Dorgu and Matheus Cunha, a reasonable fee for Summerville could represent a smart piece of business for Michael Carrick’s side.
Negotiations between Manchester United and West Ham are expected to intensify in the coming weeks as both clubs seek to finalize a deal before the start of the new season.
