Manchester United are preparing a €60 million (£51m) offer for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery, according to reports from French outlet Top Mercato. The move comes after a period of increased activity in the transfer window for United, following the signings of Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans for a combined £85m, as well as goalkeeper Karl Darlow on a free transfer.
United have previously shown interest in Zaire-Emery, first exploring a potential deal when he was 17 years old in 2023. The current pursuit is fueled by a need to bolster the midfield following Casemiro’s departure and a serious knee injury sustained by Manuel Ugarte at the World Cup. PSG are reportedly valuing the player closer to €80 million (£68m), potentially setting the stage for negotiations.
Zaire-Emery made 54 appearances for PSG during the 2025/26 season and featured for France at the recent World Cup, reaching the semi-finals. However, his game time at PSG has been inconsistent, particularly after injuries to Fabian Ruiz and Achraf Hakimi resolved, leading to a return to the substitutes’ bench under manager Luis Enrique. This situation may provide United with an opportunity to secure his signature.
In separate news, Marcus Rashford is expected to remain at Manchester United despite strong links to Barcelona. A potential transfer to the Catalan club fell through after they opted to pursue Anthony Gordon from Newcastle. A previously agreed £40 million release clause in Rashford’s contract expired on July 15th without any offers being made, and INEOS’s public desire to offload the player has reportedly deterred potential suitors from making substantial bids. While a loan move remains a possibility, United are currently unwilling to sanction another temporary departure for the forward.
