Manchester United have been informed of the reduced asking price for Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott, while also maintaining interest in Sunderland striker Brian Brobbey, according to reports. Bournemouth will now reportedly accept a fee of around £60 million for Scott, a significant drop from the previously quoted £80 million.
Scott, 23, has emerged as a target for several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Liverpool, and is viewed as a potential partner for United’s recent signing from Atalanta, Ederson. Despite interest in players like Adam Wharton of Crystal Palace and Carlos Baleba of Brighton, United are considering a bid for Scott.
Alongside the pursuit of Scott, United are also monitoring Brian Brobbey, the Sunderland forward who has impressed with his performances for both club and country. Juventus, Stuttgart, and Atletico Madrid are also reportedly interested in the 24-year-old, but United, seeking cover and competition for Benjamin Sesko, are long-time admirers. Sunderland, however, are currently unwilling to sell Brobbey, who is under contract until 2029, and are considering a new long-term deal.
Further bolstering their midfield options, United are also reportedly considering a move for Borussia Dortmund’s Waldemar Anton, with manager Michael Carrick reportedly endorsing a £35 million bid. The 26-year-old Anton offers versatility, being able to play both centre-back and right-back, and has proven himself a reliable leader for Dortmund. United are also said to be in talks regarding a potential move for Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha. These potential additions signal a busy summer for Manchester United as they look to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
