Manchester United have expressed interest in signing Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye this summer, but the Toffees are expected to demand a ‘prohibitive valuation’ to deter potential suitors, according to The Athletic. Everton are reportedly seeking around £69 million (€80m / $92.7m) for the Senegal international, a figure based on the recent sale of Anthony Gordon to Newcastle United.
Ndiaye joined Everton from Marseille in 2024 for £15 million and featured prominently for David Moyes’ side last season, scoring six goals with three assists in 27 appearances. While often deployed on the right wing, he also played 11 games on the left, showcasing his versatility, which is reportedly appealing to United manager Michael Carrick.
United recently appointed Carrick on a permanent basis following his successful interim spell, and are now looking to strengthen across the squad ahead of a season with Champions League commitments. Midfield remains a priority, with Atalanta’s Ederson poised to arrive, but bolstering the forward line is also considered crucial. The club are also reportedly pursuing Brentford striker Igor Thiago.
Complicating a potential deal, Ndiaye is currently locked in a contract stand-off with Everton, refusing to sign a new deal without an exit clause. Despite this, manager David Moyes has publicly stated his desire to retain the 26-year-old, describing him as “the last person I would consider selling” in April. Everton may need to sell players to balance the books and fund new signings, but Moyes is keen to keep his key players.
Liverpool are also reportedly monitoring Ndiaye’s situation, with both clubs seeking a new left-sided attacker. Whether United will meet Everton’s £69 million asking price remains to be seen, though Carrick is also considering other winger options.
