The Cameroon international was previously close to joining United last summer, with personal terms agreed, but Brighton refused to sanction the sale. Baleba was reportedly “pushing like crazy” to complete a move to Old Trafford at the time, though interest cooled following Ruben Amorim’s departure as manager in January, and it remains unclear if United will revisit the transfer.
United are also revisiting their interest in Bournemouth’s Tyler Adams, as reported by the Daily Mail. The US international is valued at €40 million and has been linked with the club sporadically since last year, with a potential January move thwarted by injury. The club are now considering Adams as a more affordable option as they prioritize volume signings ahead of their return to the Champions League, rather than pursuing a high-profile marquee player.
Despite already securing the signings of Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans, Manchester United are still seeking a midfielder with qualities similar to those of Casemiro, who recently departed for Inter Miami. However, the BBC reports that the club may ultimately decide against signing a third midfielder if a suitable and value-for-money option cannot be identified. This reflects a cautious approach to the transfer window, focused on finding efficient solutions rather than significant investment.
In addition to midfield targets, United are also monitoring Bologna winger Jonathan Rowe, according to Corriere di Bologna. The English forward, formerly of Norwich City, has also attracted attention from Aston Villa, Chelsea, and Everton. Bologna are hesitant to sell Rowe after just one season, but may be forced to consider offers due to their failure to qualify for European competition, and the player’s increasing market value following a strong finish to the season.
