Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush is set for discussions with the club regarding his future, with both Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United expressing interest in the 27-year-old, according to TEAMtalk. The Egyptian international has seen his playing time limited at the Etihad Stadium since joining from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025 for a fee of around £60 million.
Marmoush initially made a positive impact following his arrival at City, however, he started only eight Premier League matches last season and frequently found himself on the substitutes’ bench. This lack of consistent first-team action has prompted several clubs to monitor his situation, with Tottenham and Newcastle both lodging enquiries.
Several Bundesliga clubs are also keen on bringing Marmoush back to Germany, where he previously excelled for Eintracht Frankfurt, and sources suggest multiple German sides would be receptive to a move. However, the player and his representatives are prioritizing clarity from new Manchester City head coach Enzo Maresca before making any decisions.
Marmoush is reportedly eager to understand Maresca’s plans for him and whether he will be afforded a significant role in the team. Should Maresca indicate a prominent position within the squad, the forward is open to remaining at City and competing for his place. Conversely, if regular opportunities appear unlikely, his camp are prepared to explore the interest from both the Premier League and abroad.
Tottenham are actively seeking to bolster their attacking options and are simultaneously tracking Marmoush’s City teammate, Savinho. Newcastle, recently bolstered by the sale of Sandro Tonali to Spurs for £100 million including add-ons, also have funds available for attacking reinforcements after previous signings, Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa, failed to make the desired impact. Marmoush’s versatility, with the ability to play as a striker, second striker, or winger, is seen as a valuable asset by both clubs. The outcome of discussions with Maresca will likely determine whether either London or North East side can secure his signature.
